Lara Williams, MD is a board certified OB-GYN, currently practicing in Portland, OR. She did her Residency at the University of New Mexico where she came into contact with Pilates after an overuse injury of her hands. After using Pilates to rehabilitate her hands, she decided to pursue her Pilates Certification through Core Dynamics Pilates with Michele Larsson. She is certified through the Pilates Method Alliance. She has a particular interest in the healing aspects of Pilates, especially how it relates to the Pelvic floor. Dr. Williams believes that Pilates can rehabilitate injuries during childbirth and other pelvic floor trauma and reduce risks of pelvic floor prolapse and incontinence. She also feels that Pilates can improve symptoms due to incontinence and prolapse in patients who already experience those symptoms. Dr. Williams looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experience in both the medical and Pilates worlds to help clients and patients with their current issues.
